PORT — GENTIL, Gabon, April 6, 2026 — A Day of Solidarity was held in Port-Gentil, the capital of Ogooué-Maritime province, as an effort to provide support to vulnerable community members. Organized by Patricia Bignoumba of the Mission Nissi with support from various partners, the event distributed food kits and clothing to those in need.
In his address, Mayor Martin Moore Obame praised the event as a symbol of social commitment, noting its significance in fostering community well — being. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in easing the hardships faced by the population and vowed the city’s support for future initiatives aimed at enhancing social cohesion.
Patricia Bignoumba expressed the event’s aim to uplift the living standards of the most vulnerable through the collective efforts of partners and volunteers. Solange Pambou, a grateful recipient, thanked the organizers for the relief provided to many families, highlighting the event’s positive impact on the community.
