Marrakech, Morocco — The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Morocco unveiled its comprehensive 2025 annual report, outlining transformative efforts in health, education, child protection, and social inclusion for Moroccan children.
In health, UNICEF’s interventions were significant, including the facilitation of the procurement of 19 million doses of vaccines and nutrients worth $11. 5 million, alongside emergency measles-rubella vaccine distribution and community dialogues aimed at addressing vaccine hesitancy.
The organization also supported the training of health professionals and investments in cold chain infrastructure. Social protection saw a notable expansion, with coverage increasing from 58% in 2021 to 80% in 2025, including direct financial aid to 5. 6 million vulnerable children.
The launch of the first territorial branch of the National Social Support Agency in El Jadida province and pilot programs to link financial aid with access to basic social services are part of this advancement. Education initiatives focused on early childhood, school retention, and climate-resilient learning environments.
The development of new national daycare standards and a pilot parental education program, as well as efforts to combat school dropout, were key highlights. Over 5,523 young people benefited from workshops and innovation programs, contributing to a 31. 4% reduction in dropout rates through the Pioneer School Program.
Child protection saw the implementation of the Integrated Territorial Child Protection System, while educational support for migrant and refugee children was enhanced with the development of an inclusion kit and training programs.
In response to the 2023 Al Haouz earthquake, UNICEF contributed to the rehabilitation of schools in Marrakech and Souss Massa, improving water and sanitation infrastructure to serve 3,356 students, including 1,662 girls.
The 2025 annual report underscores UNICEF’s commitment to Morocco’s children, highlighting the progress made and emphasizing the need for continued collaboration and innovation to ensure a brighter future for all children in Morocco.
