LAMBARÉNÉ, 2 April 2026 (AGP) – In Lambaréné, the provincial capital of Moyen-Ogooué in central Gabon, a city-wide clean-up initiative was conducted in conjunction with the Citizen’s Day celebrations. The operation, a collaborative effort between the city hall and local economic operators, aimed to enhance public spaces and promote environmental health.
Mayor Guy — Pierre Biteghe highlighted the city’s commitment to cleanliness, noting, “We have initiated a city cleaning operation today, during the Citizen’s Day, a project we intend to sustain throughout our term.”The event attracted volunteers of various ages, who, armed with gloves and gardening tools, engaged in the de-weeding of parks and sidewalks.
Municipal teams, led by Mayor Biteghe, were deployed across several neighborhoods, including Moussamoukou, Atsié, Carrière, and Atongowanga. Mohamed Lemine, an economic operator, expressed support for the initiative, emphasizing the role of local businesses in contributing to a cleaner city.
