Rabat — The Royal Moroccan Chess Federation (FRME) and Beyond 64 Chess Academy have formalized a strategic partnership in Casablanca, marking a significant step towards enhancing chess in Morocco. The agreement, signed on Wednesday, outlines a structured approach to fostering chess development across the nation.
The partnership emphasizes the integration of chess as an innovative educational tool, focusing on its benefits in enhancing cognitive skills and strategic thinking, particularly among young learners. Initiatives include the development of training programs, competitions, and talent identification efforts.
FRME President Bouchra Kadiri highlighted the federation’s commitment to structuring chess and expanding its community. The initiative is designed to benefit students from preschool to university, aiming to strengthen chess as both a sport and an educational activity. Kadiri also emphasized the importance of such partnerships for Moroccan chess’s visibility and competitiveness.
Adel Choukri, founder of Beyond 64, described the agreement as a pivotal move towards modernizing chess pedagogy in Morocco. The academy’s approach, which merges technology with cognitive excellence, aims to integrate chess more deeply into educational pathways and support young talents.
The collaboration between FRME and Beyond 64 combines the federation’s national role in organizing chess with the academy’s expertise in modern teaching techniques. The goal is to elevate chess’s profile in Morocco, encourage wider participation, and build a sustainable pipeline of competitive players. This partnership aligns with Morocco’s broader efforts to expand its presence in mind sports and reinforce the educational value of chess.
