Ankara, Türkiye –
Turkish political commentator and journalist Çağlar Tekin has sharply condemned Israel’s recent strikes in Iran, calling them acts of terrorism and violations of international law due to the absence of a United Nations resolution authorizing such attacks.
Speaking to Sputnik Africa, Tekin criticized Israel’s targeting of IAEA-affiliated nuclear scientists reportedly working on peaceful nuclear applications, calling it a deliberate attempt to eliminate civilians for geopolitical gain.
“Israel’s actions clearly demonstrate that it has acquired the status of a terrorist aggressor state, supported by the United States, which is actively expanding the field of its terror in the region,” Tekin said.
The journalist emphasized that broad Western support, particularly from Washington, emboldens Israel’s military actions in the Middle East. He stressed that while opinions on Iran’s government may vary, the sovereignty of a UN-recognized state cannot be violated with impunity.
Tekin’s remarks come amid rising global tensions following a series of Israeli airstrikes on Iranian facilities, which have resulted in the deaths of senior officials and nuclear scientists, sparking condemnation across several international and regional platforms.
