Accra, Ghana — A TikTok video from November 2025 by local Ghanaian prophet Karma President has resurfaced amidst the tragic plane crash in Tema that occurred on March 16, 2026.
The video, which predicted a catastrophic aviation event, has sparked a heated debate on social media, delving into the role of prophecy in African societies. The aircraft, with registration number 9G-ADV, crashed near Oninku Park in Tema, resulting in the deaths of both pilot Frank Donkor Junior and his brother, Elijah Nana Yaw Donkor. The aircraft was traveling from Ho to Accra when the accident took place.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has initiated an investigation into the crash. Hours following the incident, Karma President’s video, originally posted on TikTok on November 11, 2025, began circulating on social media platforms. In the video, the prophet spoke of an impending aviation disaster, referencing a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025.
The video has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, dividing social media users in Ghana. Some are convinced that Karma President possesses a genuine gift, with his prophecy as evidence. Others argue that prophets frequently predict vague disasters, making it easy to claim a post-hoc correlation.
The discussion also touches on a deeper issue in African societies: the role of spirituality, prophecy, and faith in interpreting events. Frank Donkor Junior, a respected instructor with over 15 years of experience, was a significant figure in the Ghanaian aviation community. His death, alongside his brother’s, has deeply impacted the aviation community in Ghana.
Karma President has not sought public attention following the event, with his supporters suggesting that his video speaks for itself. Critics, however, maintain that a vague prophecy does not constitute proof. The Tema plane crash and the resurfacing of Karma President’s video have highlighted the complex interplay between spirituality and the interpretation of events in Ghanaian society.
The GCAA’s ongoing investigation aims to provide clarity on the cause of the crash.
