FRANCEVILLE, Gabon — In preparation for the upcoming General Population and Housing Census (RGPL) in Gabon, a sensitization campaign targeting collective households was conducted in Franceville, the capital of Haut-Ogooué province. The campaign, organized by the Department of Planning, aimed to inform residents of the census process and the roles of enumerators.
The Department of Planning team, led by mission coordinator Noëlle Obounou Abeghe, visited key sites in Franceville, including the Amissa Bongo University Hospital, the central prison, the university campus, and the Hosanna orphanage. During these visits, the team engaged with the heads of these institutions to ensure they understood the census and could relay the information to their residents.
Abeghe emphasized the importance of each responsible person disseminating the census information to facilitate the enumerators’work. The campaign concluded with the distribution of donations to the central prison and the Hosanna orphanage, underscoring the government’s commitment to the census’s success.
