Gabon: 14th Global Money Week Focuses on Financial Literacy and Investment. LIBREVILLE, Gabon — 20 March 2026 (AGP) – The 14th edition of the Global Money Week was marked by a series of conferences and workshops held at the headquarters of the Conference of the Inter-African Insurance Markets (CIMA) in Libreville, Gabon.
The events aimed to raise awareness about budget management, savings, and investment, according to the Gabonese Press Agency.
The workshops, which were attended by various stakeholders, focused on fostering financial discipline and the importance of structuring income and expenses to build savings capacity. Officials commented on the matter.
An expert emphasized, “To be able to save, one sometimes has to say no to various solicitations.
The third panel, dedicated to financial education, underlined the importance of instilling this culture from a young age to support economic development. Jacqueline Adiaba-Nkembe, President of the COSUMAF, commended the initiatives, which strengthen the trust between financial institutions and citizens. This edition of the Global Money Week is part of an ongoing international cooperation and consolidation of relations with the OECD, aimed at promoting a sustainable financial culture within the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC).
