Libreville, Gabon — The Koghani Association of Gabon held its second General Assembly on May 2, 2026, at Libreville, emphasizing unity and mobilization among the community members of the Basse-Louetsi region.
The event, attended by the Minister of Public Works, Edgard Mokambi, underscored the importance of collective action and solidarity in addressing regional challenges.
The assembly, which aimed to strengthen the associative fabric of Gabon, highlighted the association’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and promoting shared values of solidarity, human dignity, sharing, and development. Koghani, meaning “let us gather, “was established about five months ago and has since focused on supporting vulnerable individuals, children and families in need, and youth mentorship.
In addition to its social initiatives, Koghani has been actively involved in humanitarian assistance and rural development projects aimed at enhancing local resources and improving living conditions.
The General Assembly provided an opportunity to review the association’s activities and reinforce partnerships with other organizations. Minister Mokambi encouraged the participation of locals from the Basse-Louetsi, Louetsi-Bibaka, Louetsi-Wano, Boumi-Louetsi, and Ogoulou regions in regional development efforts and the fight against rural exodus.
The presence of Patrick Eric Meyo, Secretary — General of the Centre de compétences professionnelles et entrepreneuriales Zita Oligui Nguema (CCPE’ZON), demonstrated the government’s support for Koghani’s efforts in providing training and capacity building.
As the assembly concluded, the Koghani Association looked forward to expanding its reach and contributing to Gabon’s growth and stability.
