LIBREVILLE, Gabon — 04 February 2026 (AGP) – Samy Biveghe, the president of the Union Sportive d’Oyem (USO), has raised concerns over the lack of coordination and transparency surrounding the potential resumption of the National-Foot football championship. Biveghe, in a statement on the USO’s official Facebook page, questioned the absence of official communication regarding the resumption date of the championship. He noted that while there is circulation of dates for qualifying competitions, no formal announcement has been made by the League of National Football Associations (LINAF), the football federation, or the ministry responsible for the sport.
Officials commented on the matter. He further inquired about the financial obligations of the LINAF, questioning who would cover the costs incurred by clubs prior to the announced resumption.
According to Biveghe, clubs cannot continue to be “the adjusting variable of an unbalanced system.”.
He also sought clarity on the Federation’s plans to assist clubs facing challenges related to the Citizens Identification (CIT) and Tax Management System (TMS). For Biveghe, discussing a resumption without operational answers to these questions amounts to improvisation.
He emphasized the need for clear and transparent communication from the relevant authorities to ensure the smooth running of the championship.
Further details are expected as the situation unfolds.
The concerns raised by Biveghe highlight the importance of proper planning and communication in the management of sports events.
