Cameroon: LECUDO-USA Partners Launch Three-Day Free Health Campaign in Fontem. Fontem, Cameroon — March 11, 2026 In Fontem, Lebialem Division, Cameroon, a three-day free health campaign has commenced at the Mary Health of Africa Hospital, aiming to provide essential medical services to over 1,500 patients. Organized by LECUDO-USA in collaboration with Mary Health of Africa Hospital and various partners, the initiative began on Wednesday, March 11, and will continue until Friday, March 13.
The campaign is focused on addressing healthcare gaps in Lebialem, where many residents struggle to access specialized treatment due to limited medical infrastructure and the distance to major urban hospitals. Common issues such as eye health, dental care, and mental well-being are among the services being offered, including free eye examinations, dental consultations, mental health support, and surgical procedures. During the opening day, numerous residents gathered at the hospital seeking medical attention.
Health professionals conducted consultations, screenings, and prepared cases requiring further treatment or surgery. Eye care services have been particularly popular, as many individuals have long suffered from untreated vision problems. Beyond physical health, the campaign is also emphasizing mental health, with specialists offering consultations to those dealing with stress, trauma, and other psychological challenges.
The CEO of LECUDO — USA, Ben Fuaminka, highlighted the comprehensive nature of the services provided, stating, “The package includes free laboratory tests, medical checkups, consultations, surgery, cancer screening, and blood pressure and diabetes screening. Everything is free.”
The CEO also noted that the services are open to anyone who can reach the campaign, including individuals from neighboring areas and countries.
Partners supporting the initiative include Mary Health of Africa Hospital, the Folklary Movement, Ntecka Lab, Healing Beyond the Horizon, Life Bridge International, and the Cameroon Oncology Centre. HRM Fon Asabaton Fontem Njifua, the traditional ruler of Fontem, praised the campaign as an important act of giving back to the community.
He emphasized the increased availability of equipment, volunteers, and medication over the years, reflecting the continuous improvement of the campaign.
The free medical campaign reflects LECUDO — USA and its partners’commitment to supporting health needs in Lebialem Division. By bringing medical professionals and equipment directly to Fontem, the initiative is helping to reduce barriers to quality healthcare. Further details are expected as the campaign progresses.
