Agadir, Morocco — In a significant stride towards enhancing multilateral cooperation, Morocco and Russia have been engaged in a series of high-level discussions aimed at bolstering strategic partnerships.
The Moroccan Ministry of Equipment and Water reported that Minister Nizar Baraka hosted Alexander Devaykin, President of the Moroccan — Russian Friendship Group in the Russian Federation Council, along with a parliamentary delegation, during an official visit from April 20-24. This visit, which is part of the ongoing initiative to deepen Morocco-Russia relations, has particularly focused on expanding cooperation in agriculture, marine fisheries, and food security. Moroccan Ministry of Equipment and Water highlighted that the meeting was instrumental in exploring prospects for a bilateral partnership.
It marked a significant milestone, as it coincided with the tenth anniversary of the strategic partnership established in 2016 by King Mohammed VI and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The discussions also underscored the importance of strengthening interparliamentary cooperation, including the collaboration between relevant committees and the work of parliamentary friendship groups. Agricultural and Scientific Collaboration was a key area of focus, with both countries emphasizing the importance of consolidating cooperation in scientific and technical fields. This includes academic and institutional partnerships, such as the collaboration between Morocco’s Hassan II School of Public Works and its Russian counterparts.

Future Prospects were also discussed, with officials from both sides emphasizing the stability of existing economic ties and the continuous evolution of their relationship.
