Rabat — The Moroccan national futsal team is poised to kick off its tournament campaign in Berkane against Cape Verde today. The competition, running from April 10 to 14, is a crucial part of Morocco’s preparation for the upcoming CAF Futsal Cup of Nations in 2026, which will be hosted in the country.
Head coach Hicham Dguig has been focusing on technical and tactical improvements, as well as team cohesion, during recent training sessions. The Atlas Lions will face Cape Verde in their opening match before confronting Libya next Tuesday.
Dguig has assembled a squad of 20 players, including domestic league stars and internationals based in French and Spanish clubs. The team boasts talents such as Mohamed Chibi, Moaad Senna, and Abdelkabir Abqar, among others.
This tournament in Berkane is seen as an opportunity for Morocco to refine its squad and build momentum ahead of the significant continental event.
