Legendary South African musician Albert Mazibuko, a founding member of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, will be honored at a memorial service in Durban on Wednesday. Mazibuko, aged 77, passed away on Monday following a brief illness.
The public is invited to attend the service, which is scheduled for next Wednesday.
The funeral will take place the following Saturday in Estcourt. Since joining Ladysmith Black Mambazo in 1969, Mazibuko played a pivotal role in bringing the group’s Zulu songs to a global audience, earning them five Grammy Awards. Known as a true cultural ambassador, Mazibuko dedicated his life to promoting peace and harmony.
The group is requesting that the public keep the family in their thoughts as they celebrate Mazibuko’s extraordinary life.
