Koulamoutou, 6 April 2026 (AGP) — The Union Nationale political party, led by Paulette Missambo, convened a gathering in Mabimbi, a district within the second arrondissement of Koulamoutou, the capital of the Ogooué-Lolo province in east-central Gabon. The event, attended by the party’s former leader, Sonia Mboma, aimed to express gratitude to local voters for their support in recent local elections.
During the meeting, Mboma and provincial delegate Gracia Wouchi also celebrated the New Year’s festivities with the community, which had backed their campaign. The residents of Mabimbi warmly welcomed this gesture, reiterating their intent to continue supporting the Union Nationale in future elections. Mboma expressed her appreciation to Missambo for her confidence in appointing her as the head of the party’s local election list. She emphasized the significance of community unity in fostering a cohesive society.
Mboma also highlighted the party’s commitment to the development of Koulamoutou and the Ogooué-Lolo region, aligning with President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema’s focus on national development. The Union Nationale’s list, led by Mboma, narrowly missed securing a seat as counselor in the second arrondissement, receiving 240 votes, or 9% of the votes cast.
