The mill’s revival follows a successful business rescue process initiated in 2023, made possible by an investment of nearly R2 billion from new owners. Deputy Trade, Industry, and Competition Minister Zuko Godlimpi will be present at the relaunch event. He is also scheduled to sign Phase 2 of the Sugar Industry Master Plan in Mount Edgecombe later in the week, aiming to stabilize and transform the sector through collaboration between government, business, and labor.
