Mogadishu — Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has disclosed the killing of several Al-Shabaab leaders as part of a 10-month operation, the agency announced in a statement. The targeted leaders were key figures in planning attacks, managing finances, and directing battlefield activities across Somalia.
In coordination with international partners, the operations were aimed at weakening the militant group’s operational capacity and dismantling its senior leadership and support networks. NISA emphasized the success of these efforts, attributing them to improved intelligence-gathering and the execution of joint operations with international partners.
The agency did not specify the exact locations or dates of the killings but confirmed that the campaign would continue in the broader effort to degrade Al — Shabaab’s command structure and limit its ability to conduct attacks. Somali officials have stated that operations are ongoing and further updates will be provided as security efforts progress.
