Mogadishu, Somalia — A delegation from the Federal Parliament of Somalia, accompanied by senior government officials and military officers, recently visited a military training camp in the Bakool region. The visit aimed to bolster troop morale and support the Somali National Army’s training efforts.
During the tour, led by MP Abdullahi Black, the delegation met with hundreds of young recruits who are currently undergoing military training. The training focuses on essential military skills, with a particular emphasis on national defense and community protection.
The initiative is part of the Federal Government’s broader strategy to empower youth and enhance security across Somalia. MP Black addressed the recruits, commending the government’s commitment to equipping young people in Bakool with the skills necessary to defend their region and contribute to national stability. He encouraged the trainees to maintain dedication and discipline as they prepare for service.
The delegation was warmly welcomed at the camp by officers from the 9th Brigade of the 60th Division of the Somali National Army. The officials were also treated to a military parade and demonstration by the new recruits, highlighting the progress of their training.
The visit underscores the government’s efforts to improve the capacity of the Somali National Army and address ongoing security challenges in the region.
