Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, on Saturday, December 20.
The meeting, which occurred on the sidelines of the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia — Africa Partnership Forum, was a pivotal moment aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and fostering cooperation in key areas.
The discussions centered on advancing economic, development, investment, and security ties between the two nations.
Both ministers emphasized the significance of practical partnerships that contribute to stability and sustainable development. Regional security developments were also on the agenda, with Egypt reiterating its support for stability in Somalia and the Horn of Africa. Both ministers underscored the importance of sustained international financing for the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) to ensure its effectiveness in maintaining peace and security.
The meeting concluded with a call for enhanced regional and international coordination to address threats to peace and security in the region, particularly in combating terrorism and violent extremism.
