Marrakech — SAP and Smart Africa have formalized a strategic partnership, marking a significant step in advancing Africa’s digital agenda. The agreement was inked during the GITEX Africa 2026 conference, which brings together stakeholders from across the continent, international organizations, and the global private sector.
The partnership is designed to promote long — term digital growth by harnessing business applications, data, and artificial intelligence. This integration is intended to enhance organizational operations, enabling better anticipation of change, increased resilience, and more informed decision-making, particularly in sectors like supply chains.
Under the partnership, SAP will integrate business applications, data, and AI to optimize organizational performance. This strategic move is aimed at bolstering resilience against disruptions. Hicham Iraqi Houssaini, Managing Director of SAP Francophone Africa, highlighted the company’s commitment to Africa’s transformative journey, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the initiative involving both public and private sectors.
SAP’s focus is on key sectors crucial to Africa’s growth, including healthcare, infrastructure, and education. The company’s technologies are contributing to traceability, operational transparency, and management system modernization, alongside fostering data-driven decision-making. To support these efforts, SAP is investing in talent development through initiatives like the SAP Young Professionals Program (YPP) in Francophone Africa.
