In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), over 645,000 individuals have been newly displaced within the Ituri province between November 2025 and February 2026, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The majority, approximately 99%, of these displacements are attributed to armed attacks and confrontations. Among the hardest-hit areas are Fizi, which has seen 140,000 displacements, Kalehe with 64,000, and Miti-1Murhesa with 48,000.
As of February 28, the province hosts more than 1. 27 million internally displaced persons (PDI), with 6% of them residing in PDI sites.
Additionally, over 1 million individuals have returned to their areas of origin over the past 18 months.
