Rabat, Morocco — The Moroccan U17 national football team concluded their UNAF Tournament with a 3–1 triumph over Libya, marking an unbeaten run of four consecutive wins. The victory at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi secured the title for Morocco, as they finished the tournament with a perfect record.
In a match dominated from start to finish, coach Tiago Lima Pereira showcased his team’s depth by giving opportunities to players who had previously seen limited action. Adnan El Boujjoufi was the star of the match, scoring the opening goal in the second minute and adding a second in the 55th. Adam Boughazir contributed with the third goal in the 45th minute.
The UNAF Tournament, hosted in Libya, featured U — 17 teams from North Africa, showcasing the intense competition among emerging talents. Morocco’s success was swift, with an early 2–1 win over Egypt, which led to a flawless group stage performance, including victories over Tunisia (2–0) and Algeria (3–0), underlining their dominance.
Having claimed the UNAF Tournament title, Morocco’s U17 team now turns its focus to defending their African title at the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Morocco.
