King Salman Relief Center Launches Zakat al — Fitr Distribution in Somalia. Mogadishu, Somalia — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has initiated a humanitarian project in Somalia to distribute Zakat al-Fitr assistance, marking its support for vulnerable communities during the holy month of Ramadan. This effort is a part of the broader humanitarian and relief programs by KSrelief, aimed at alleviating suffering worldwide.
According to local reports, the project will distribute 10,000 bags of rice, each weighing 20 kilograms, to poor and displaced families. This initiative is expected to benefit approximately 80,000 people across Somalia, with priority given to the most vulnerable groups such as internally displaced families, orphans, widows, and low-income households in the Banadir region and South West State.
The implementation of the project comes in the wake of ongoing humanitarian challenges facing Somali communities, including drought, displacement, and worsening food insecurity.
The initiative aims to meet the basic food needs of vulnerable families and bring relief during the Eid al — Fitr celebrations.
The Al — Mahasin Foundation for Development and Education, which is collaborating with KSrelief, expressed pride in the partnership.
The foundation emphasized that the distribution will be conducted in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and organization, in close coordination with local authorities and community committees.
The project reflects the ongoing humanitarian role of KSrelief in Somalia, aimed at alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations and promoting values of solidarity and mutual support with affected communities. Further details are expected as the distribution process unfolds.
