Global Coalition Launches to Expand AI Accessibility. Nairobi, Kenya — 08 December 2025 Lead Paragraph: BFA Global, Caribou, and MSC, international organizations spanning over 150 countries, have launched the Alliance for Inclusive AI.
The coalition aims to bridge the gap in AI accessibility, focusing on delivering responsible AI solutions to 100 million people by 2030, with a commitment to mobilize US$100 million in blended finance.
This initiative is crucial in addressing the growing divide in AI adoption between developed and developing nations.
The Alliance for Inclusive AI is a collaborative effort to integrate inclusive AI into sectors such as financial inclusion, agriculture, climate resilience, and digital public services across the Global South. Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group, highlighted the need for “small AI “models, which can be delivered on local devices, to prevent further marginalization of countries lacking digital infrastructure and skilled workforces.
Prateek Shrivastava, Managing Director of BFA Global, emphasized the importance of pooling resources to extend AI infrastructure and solutions to millions globally.
Jessica Osborn, CEO of Caribou, noted that AI’s impact will be profound only when it is shaped by marginalized communities, ensuring that AI reflects their realities.
The Alliance is structured around six pillars: technology providers, development finance institutions (DFIs), investors, governments, research institutions, and civil society organizations.
Graham Wright, Co — Chair and Group Managing Director of MSC, warned that countries without the necessary digital infrastructure and policy frameworks may become further marginalized.
The launch of the Alliance for Inclusive AI marks a significant step towards ensuring that AI benefits a broader range of people and communities. While the path ahead is challenging, the coalition’s commitment to inclusivity and collaboration offers a glimmer of hope in narrowing the AI divide.
Further details on the Alliance’s progress and achievements are expected in the coming months.
