Since 1 April 2026, Heavy Rains Have Triggered Floods in the Kahele Territory of South Kivu Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The overflow of the Nyacivira River has resulted in fatalities and extensive damage.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) reported six fatalities, 13 injured individuals, and 1,882 displaced persons as of 6 April.
The total number of affected people stands at 65,000.
The DRC is expected to experience additional moderate to heavy rainfall over the next 48 hours.
