LIBREVILLE, Gabon — Gabon’s Minister of Public Function and Capacity Building, Laurence Ndong, convened a meeting in Libreville on March 26, 2026, to address the enhancement of the Unique Reference File (FUR), a key tool for managing public service careers. The FUR has been identified as central to improving the career management of public employees.
During the meeting, Minister Ndong announced the imminent holding of a technical workshop involving the Ministry of Public Function and the National Agency for Digital Infrastructure and Frequencies (ANINF). The workshop aims to bolster the FUR’s functionalities, preparing for the introduction of the new Integrated Human Resource Management System (SIGRH).
The Minister emphasized the urgency of addressing over 10,000 pending files, declaring it a “major priority of government action.”She urged stakeholders to collaborate in implementing an efficient mechanism to expedite the regularization of administrative situations, with a goal of achieving significant progress before the 100-day roadmap deadline of May 15, 2026.
Representatives from the ANINF committed to providing full technical support to the Ministry in this endeavor. The meeting followed reports of several dysfunctions within the FUR, including delays in processing administrative acts and technical issues such as connection instability and data recording problems.
The FUR, a centralized computerized management tool, is designed to manage data for all state employees, aiming to optimize the payroll and modernize public services.
