Gabon: Training Seminar on Public Expenditure Application Concludes in Woleu-Ntem. Oyem, Gabon — 11 March 2026 (AGP) – A training seminar for Responsible Unit Operators (RUO) on the use of a new public expenditure application has concluded in Oyem, northern Gabon, the Gabonese Press Agency reported.
The event, which commenced on 4 March, was organized by the General Directorates of Treasury, Budget, and Financial Control.
The mission aimed to equip RUOs, including credit approvers, with knowledge on the expenditure aspect of the new digital management application for state expenditures. Pierre Gabin Manfoumbi, head of the mission, expressed satisfaction with the participants’enthusiasm for the new State expenditure management tool.
However, he expressed regret over the lack of permanent internet access for computers and scanners used during the training.
According to Manfoumbi, the seminar enabled participants from five departments in the province to become familiar with the new public finance management application. He added that the training would continue remotely, as an organization is in place in Libreville to assist credit approvers from the interior of Gabon remotely.
The seminar is part of the State’s digitalization reform of revenue and expenditure, a decision made by the highest authorities.
The implementation of this significant reform began in 2026 with the digitalization of the State expenditure component. What Happens Next? Further details regarding the ongoing digitalization efforts and the next steps in the training program are expected to be announced in the coming days.
