LIBREVILLE, Gabon — 26 February 2026 (AGP) – The Gabonese Ministry of Public Works has outlined a comprehensive plan to expedite ongoing construction projects, according to the Gabonese Press Agency. Minister Edgar Moukoumbi presented the initiative during a recent episode of “Le Gouvernement s’exprime” on Gabon 24, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the continuity and execution of current projects.
The plan, which spans the next 100 days, is structured around two main components.
On the administrative front, the ministry aims to finalize tender procedures and update regulatory frameworks. Concurrently, the ministry will focus on prioritizing road infrastructure, construction, and sanitation projects across the country.
In terms of road infrastructure, approximately 51 kilometers of a planned 306-kilometer network are set to be completed.
The total cost of these projects is estimated at 140 billion CFA francs, with an execution period of 48 months.

Minister Moukoumbi’s announcement underscores the government’s dedication to enhancing the country’s infrastructure, which is crucial for economic growth and social development.
The initiative is expected to create jobs and stimulate the local economy, while also improving the quality of life for Gabonese citizens.
The plan has been welcomed by local stakeholders, who view it as a positive step towards modernizing Gabon’s infrastructure.
However, some observers have expressed hope that the government will also prioritize transparency and accountability in the execution of these projects. Further details regarding the implementation of the plan are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
The government remains committed to keeping the public informed of progress and challenges as they arise.
