Gabon — U. K. Strengthen Ties in Key Strategic Sectors.
Libreville, Gabon — 17 March 2026 (AGP) – In a significant development, the Vice-President of Gabon, Alexandre Barro Chambrier, met with the British Minister of Commerce, Calvin Bailey, in Libreville.
The meeting, which was confirmed by the Gabonese Press Agency, focused on enhancing cooperation between Gabon and the United Kingdom, members of the Commonwealth.

The UK, which is already active in various sectors within Gabon, aims to broaden and diversify its engagement. Vice-President Chambrier conveyed to Minister Bailey that he would accurately relay the message of King Charles III to Gabon’s President, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
