LIBREVILLE, Gabon — As of the first quarter of 2026, Gabon is among the ten African countries with the lowest diesel prices, as indicated by recent data from GlobalPetrolPrices and Business Insider Africa. Gabon ranked 10th in the continental list for February 2026, following Libya, Algeria, Angola, Tunisia, and Nigeria.
The March 2026 data confirmed Gabon’s position in this select group. With a price of 675 FCFA per liter, significantly below the African average, which often exceeds 900 FCFA in non-producing countries, Gabon stands out for its affordable fuel pricing. This status is attributed to the country’s national fuel subsidy policies and its status as an oil producer, which helps keep pump prices low.
