LIBREVILLE, Gabon — On Tuesday, President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema of Gabon met with the United Nations System’s newly appointed Resident Coordinator, Fatou Aminata Lo, in Libreville. During their audience, Lo reiterated the UN’s commitment to align with Gabon’s national priorities through the Framework for Cooperation.
The Framework for Cooperation, a partnership currently in consolidation, is integrated within the National Growth and Development Plan (NGDP). It emphasizes key sectors including governance, economic transformation, environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and human capital enhancement.
Lo emphasized the UN’s dedication to a partnership built on active listening, anticipation, and collaborative problem-solving. She highlighted the importance of anticipating needs and advocating for more cohesive, effective, and results-driven actions.
The Resident Coordinator’s pivotal role in facilitating a unified approach among various UN agencies was also underscored. The meeting concluded with a mutual resolve to enhance ongoing dialogue and strategic cooperation between Gabon and the UN System. A primary focus was set on improving sustainable access to basic social services and addressing the country’s current challenges.
