Gabon: Senate Group Visits Press Agency to Discuss Partnership. LIBREVILLE, Gabon — 5 March 2026 (AGP) – The Senate’s parliamentary group UDB, led by its president Justin Ndoundangoye, conducted a visit to the Gabonese Press Agency (AGP) in Libreville on Thursday.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen ties with national media and explore partnership opportunities aimed at enhancing the visibility of parliamentary activities, according to the AGP.
During the meeting with the agency’s management, discussions centered on the role of public media in disseminating institutional information and the need to improve communication around the actions of senators. Justin Ndoundangoye, speaking in the presence of AGP Director General Hermine Otounga Souna, highlighted the UDB group’s intention to establish a new relationship with national press.
“We aim to build a new relationship with local media to better advocate for our cause and improve the visibility of our institution, the Senate,” he.
The UDB president also mentioned the possibility of a “mutually beneficial” partnership between the two institutions. Under this arrangement, the Senate would provide information and technical insights into its activities, while the AGP would ensure wider dissemination of parliamentary actions. Following the visit, the delegation expressed satisfaction with the discussions, praising the innovations initiated under the new management.
“I am more than satisfied from this visit. I have discovered the innovations and changes initiated under the new management. I found an attentive ear and an agency ready to accompany us in the mission of popularizing our activities,” Ndoundangoye.
The UDB leader also reminded that transparency and accountability are strategic priorities for the Senate. “Parliamentary work is a public work.
As national representatives, we have a responsibility to the Gabonese citizens to account for the activities we carry out daily,” he concluded.
Further details are expected as the partnership between the Senate and the AGP unfolds.
