LIBREVILLE, 5 April 2026 – In a ceremony held in Oyem, the provincial capital of Woleu-Ntem, Fernand Angoue Obame was celebrated as the newest Doctor in Management Sciences. The event, which drew nearly 500 guests, marked his exceptional achievement of a very good honors degree in accounting, control, and audit from the University of Douala in Cameroon. The Gabonese Press Agency reported on the solemn yet festive atmosphere, with attendees including local authorities, religious leaders, associative actors, and family members.
Jean Pierre Mintsa, a distinguished figure and uncle of the honoree, highlighted the significance of the accomplishment, emphasizing the balance between public service and academic excellence. Boris Meye, representing the youth, echoed these sentiments, viewing Angoue Obame as a role model for his dedication and discipline.
Expressing gratitude, Angoue Obame himself maintained a humble perspective on his achievement, describing it as a stepping stone rather than an endpoint. His thesis focused on the determinants of extra-financial communication for Gabonese entities within a sustainable development context, and was successfully defended before a jury led by Emeritus Professor David Kamdem, who commended the quality of the work.
