Gabon: Candidates Required to Submit Campaign Finance Reports. LIBREVILLE, Gabon — The Gabonese Ministry of the Interior, Security, and Decentralization has instructed candidates who participated in the recent legislative, local, and senatorial elections to submit their campaign finance reports.
The directive comes as per articles 368 and 369 of the Organic Law No.
001/2025 on the Electoral Code of the Gabonese Republic, as outlined in a ministry communiqué. Candidates are mandated to deposit their campaign finance accounts with the Court of Auditors or the Provincial Chamber of Auditors within the territorial jurisdiction.
These accounts must be accompanied by a detailed statement of the sources of campaign funding, a statement of expenses incurred, and supporting documentation, according to the communiqué.
The candidates are reminded to submit these documents during working days from 08:00 to 16:00 at the registry of the Court of Auditors or the Provincial Chamber of Auditors, within a period of sixty (60) days following the proclamation of the final results by the competent judicial authorities. This move is in line with the Gabonese government’s efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
The ministry’s communiqué emphasizes the importance of adhering to these legal requirements to maintain the integrity of the electoral system.
