The digital driving license, a project led by the Ministry of Transport, Merchant Marine, and Logistics, is part of a broader strategy to streamline administrative processes and ensure the integrity of official documents.
The new license incorporates advanced security features such as a QR code for authentication, Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, a module for tracking infractions, and digital certification mechanisms.
The introduction of the digital driving license is expected to reduce procedural delays, secure official documents, and improve the traceability of operations. It also seeks to regulate the sector more effectively and combat fraud, while promoting the efficient use of public resources.
Developed by the Gabonese SME Rengus Digital, under the leadership of Madeleine Orlane Renguila Ikana, the technological innovation is seen as a step towards fostering renewed trust between the administration and citizens.
