The Gabonese Ministry of Labor, Full Employment, Social Dialogue, and Vocational Training announced on Wednesday that the days of Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6, 2026, which mark Easter and Easter Monday, will be declared public holidays, non-working, and paid across the national territory. This information was reported in a communiqué received by the Editorial Department of the Gabonese Press Agency (AGP).
The ministry explained that this measure is in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 00727/PR/MTEFP of June 29, 1998, regulating the regime of public holidays in Gabon, amended by Article 2 of Decree No. 000484/PR/MTE of May 26, 2004.
The purpose of this measure is to allow Christian believers to celebrate the resurrection of Christ with their families.
