LIBREVILLE, Gabon — Gabon’s President, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, outlined the priorities of the new government during a Council of Ministers meeting held in Libreville on January 5, 2026, according to the Gabonese state press agency (AGP).
The President emphasized the need for a new guidance mechanism to refocus government action, as stated in the final communiqué of the Council of Ministers.

Additionally, the communiqué mentioned the promotion of 18 senior officers in the Gabonese Armed Forces and the presentation of the members of the bureau of the CESEC to the President.
