In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), particularly in the province of Nord-Kivu, over 351,000 individuals have been newly displaced between November 2025 and February 2026.
The majority of these displacements, approximately 99%, are attributed to armed attacks and confrontations. Among the most affected areas are Musiennene, with 44,300 displaced, followed by Butembo with 34,900, and Manguredjipa with 11,000.
As of February 28, the province is home to over 1. 24 million internally displaced persons (IDPs), with 15% located on displacement sites.
Additionally, over 2. 17 million individuals have returned to the area over the past 18 months.
