In Kinshasa, DRC, Caritas Congo Asbl recently concluded a strategic reinforcement program for its directors from 48 diocesan and 2 provincial Caritas-Development units. The training, held from March 2 to 6, 2026, at the organization’s Kinshasa-Gombe center, focused on Community Development Axed on Assets (ABCD), Leadership, Management, and Coaching. This initiative aimed to enhance the skills of Caritas agents, emphasizing both professionalism and a compassionate heart, reflecting the values of Jesus Christ.
The latest issue of the Caritas Congo Asbl magazine, “Lève-toi et Marche “(Rise and Walk), Number 070, covers the period from January to March 2026. It highlights the theme “Leadership and Valuing Local Resources, “which is also the focus of the magazine’s main feature. The issue invites readers to act out of love, emphasizing the importance of actions over words.
In 2025, Caritas Congo Asbl provided support to over three million people, a testament to hope amidst challenges. The magazine includes testimonials from women who have benefited from Caritas projects, such as Mme Anifa Bozi of Malela/Maniema and Mme Hélène Bokaka of Mvululu/Kongo Central. The issue also discusses the revitalization of the Caritas network in RDC, including strategic orientations for 2026 and governance strengthening efforts.
Caritas Congo Asbl has been involved in various projects, such as supporting food security in the Kwilu province, empowering women in Bukavu, Kikwit, and Kinshasa, and integrating people with disabilities into the production chain in Katanga. The magazine also highlights the launch of the 2026 Humanitarian Response Plan amidst a funding crisis, organized by the Congolese government and partners, including the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
In the health sector, Caritas Congo Asbl has strengthened partnerships with organizations like the Against Malaria Foundation and has been involved in various initiatives, including the establishment of “Wash Clinics “in the Mahagi-Nioka Diocese and an eye care mission in the Equateur province.
