In a significant move at the GITEX Africa Morocco event in Marrakech, the BCP Group announced two pivotal agreements designed to enhance educational accessibility and drive technological advancement. The first agreement, a collaborative effort with the International University of Rabat (UIR), aims to make higher education in Morocco more attainable for African students. This strategic partnership, inked during the fourth edition of the event, includes a comprehensive support package that addresses academic guidance, integration services, and tailored financing solutions.
The university will oversee aspects such as student reception, housing, and tuition costs, while BCPI will provide study loans and financial packages to assist families in managing the expenses of education abroad. Othmane Tajjedine, the managing director of international banking and specialized subsidiaries at BCP Group, emphasized the partnership’s goal of making top-tier academic opportunities more accessible to African students and contributing to regional socioeconomic development. “We are proud to introduce financial solutions that cater to the needs of families and support the academic achievements of African students, “Tajjedine.
The second agreement, a collaboration with Huawei Morocco, focuses on the digital transformation of BCP’s banking technology infrastructure. This partnership involves the upgrade of core platforms with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, intelligent storage systems, enhanced cybersecurity, SD-WAN infrastructure, and cloud computing. Hassan Taher, the deputy director in charge of group support functions at BCP, highlighted the collaboration’s potential to elevate the banking group’s position as a leader in Morocco’s digital transformation. “This work is expected to improve operational efficiency and strengthen customer data protection, “Taher stated.
The two agreements not only strengthen BCP’s strategic partnerships in education and technology but also align with a broader strategy focused on sustainable development, talent training, and innovation, benefiting Morocco and the wider region.
