Rabat, Morocco — Barid Al-Maghrib has achieved a groundbreaking status in Morocco’s digital landscape by becoming the nation’s first accredited provider of qualified timestamping services. This milestone was reached following the approval by the Direction Générale de la Sécurité des Systèmes d’Information (DGSSI), underscoring the company’s pivotal role in fostering digital trust within the country.
Under the regulatory framework of Law 43-20, which governs trust services for electronic transactions, Barid Al-Maghrib’s new accreditation enhances its position as a key player in Morocco’s digital ecosystem. The service, which guarantees reliability, security, and legal validity, is now available to both public and private sectors.
This development is a continuation of Barid Al — Maghrib’s commitment to digital innovation, following its earlier certification for the “Barid eSign “service in January 2025. The introduction of qualified timestamping, utilizing advanced cryptographic technologies, ensures the precise certification of a document’s existence at a specific date and time, thereby upholding its integrity.
The service is anticipated to bolster the legal security of electronic transactions and facilitate the shift towards paperless processes. Barid Al-Maghrib’s expansion in digital services, including this latest accreditation, positions the company at the forefront of secure digital solutions in Morocco.
In parallel, Barid Al — Maghrib has furthered its commitment to data governance by joining the national DATA-TIKA program, a partnership with the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP). This collaboration aims to support organizations in adhering to Morocco’s Law 09-08 on personal data protection, reinforcing the company’s alignment with national digital trust initiatives.
