Mogadishu, Somalia — Under the National Reconciliation Framework (NRF), Somalia’s Peace Education initiative has been fast-tracked by a high-level meeting chaired by Mr. Abdulkadir Ali, the Director General of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation. The gathering, which included key stakeholders such as the Director General of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, focused on harnessing the potential of Peace Education to reinforce social cohesion and mitigate conflicts.
The participants agreed on the necessity for collaborative efforts to bring the initiative to fruition. The meeting culminated in a consensus to form a Peace Education Steering Committee. This committee is charged with overseeing, coordinating, and expediting the implementation of the national program.
