The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that the increase is primarily due to attacks and armed confrontations, with more than 96,000 individuals being forced to flee their homes. Approximately 50% of the IDPs are sheltering in the territories of Masisi (354,939) and Rutshuru (269,628).
