LIBREVILLE, 31 March 2026 (AGP) – The Gabonese Press Agency (AGP) has welcomed a strategic audit mission from the Moroccan news agency, Agence Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP). The mission, initiated on Tuesday at the AGP headquarters in Libreville, is led by Hicham Alaoui, a counselor to the director general of MAP.
Opening the proceedings, David Ella Mintsa, the Communication Minister’s advisor, urged participants to engage in a comprehensive reflection aimed at reviving the AGP. “I would like to encourage you to have a productive reflection to bring the AGP to the forefront and restore it, “he stated.
The mission holds significant strategic importance for the AGP’s modernization and development. It is intended to provide a professional, objective, and constructive review of the agency’s operations to pinpoint strengths and areas for improvement.
During the opening address, AGP’s director general, Hermine Otounga Souna, expressed gratitude to the Moroccan delegation for their support in this capacity-building initiative. She is confident that the mission will elevate the AGP to a benchmark in African information. “Our ambition is clear: to make the Gabonese Press Agency an indispensable actor in African information, a reference for editorial quality, digital innovation, and organizational performance, “she stated.
The first day of the mission included a session of exchanges between the MAP delegation and AGP staff, followed by workshops focusing on editorial, technical, and marketing aspects.
