Mogadishu, Somalia — 2026-03-18 KSrelief Completes Zakat al-Fitr Distribution for Vulnerable Families in Somalia. Mogadishu(SONNA) — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, in collaboration with Al-Mahasin Foundation, has successfully concluded the distribution of Zakat al-Fitr assistance across Somalia. This initiative, which was carried out over several days of rigorous fieldwork, has reached thousands of vulnerable families and internally displaced people in the Benadir region and selected areas of the South West State.
The aid, which was delivered to displacement camps, water point areas, and communities in Lafole and Afgoye, where humanitarian needs are particularly acute, has also been extended to orphan care centers and patients with special needs at Martini Hospital in Mogadishu. This support aims to ensure that the most vulnerable populations receive assistance ahead of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
The distribution comes at a time when Somalia is addressing ongoing drought and displacement, which have exacerbated living conditions and increased the reliance on humanitarian assistance.
Al — Mahasin Foundation has emphasized that the project was executed with high standards of transparency and in close coordination with local authorities and community committees to guarantee the timely delivery of aid to eligible beneficiaries. This effort is a testament to KSrelief’s sustained humanitarian commitment to Somalia, as it continues to support vulnerable communities and reinforce social solidarity during these challenging times.
Further details on the distribution and the impact of the aid are expected to emerge in the coming days.
