Cairo, Egypt — Afreximbank has released the second season of its documentary series “Impact Stories,” a six-part production that tracks bank-funded projects in Africa and the Caribbean, official statements indicate.
The season, first shown on 12 February and now streaming from 12 March on Afreximbank TV, was produced with Create, the branded-content unit of CNN International Commercial. Filming took place in Grenada, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria.
Episodes spotlight: SilverSands Resort expansion in Grenada, signalling closer Africa-Caribbean ties Dangote refinery in Lagos, described by the bank as a major industrial build-out Geometric Power plant in Aba, Nigeria, restoring steady electricity to a regional manufacturing hub Ghana cocoa value-chain partnership with Plot Enterprise, tracing beans from farm to export terminal Ghanaian fashion label Boyedoe, preparing for Paris Fashion Week under the bank’s Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) programme Refurbishment of Abidjan’s Félix Houphouët-Boigny stadium, presented as an example of sports-driven local economic activity.
Anne Ezeh, the bank’s director of communication and events, said the films focus on “partnerships, progress and our commitment to economic independence,” according to the release. Martin Laing, executive producer for Create, said the series keeps “human impact” at the centre of each story.
The episodes are promoted on CNN. Com and will air in longer television slots on reports International, officials confirmed. Further release dates for additional platforms were not announced.
