Somali Parliamentarians Engage in East Africa’s Food Security Summit. MOGADISHU, Somalia — December 20, 2025 A Somali parliamentary delegation has returned from the Eastern Africa Parliamentary Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition summit, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The four — day conference aimed to tackle the region’s critical agricultural challenges and strengthen policy frameworks related to food security and nutrition.
According to local reports, the delegation included Members of Parliament and key officials such as the Director of the General Secretariat of the House of the People, Mr. Mohamed Hussein Abdullahi (Maarso).
The summit provided a platform for legislative representatives to discuss transforming food and agricultural systems into more resilient and sustainable models.
The primary focus was on enhancing parliamentary leadership in food security and nutrition.
