Libreville, Gabon – Gabon’s government has partnered with ST Digital Construction to build a 100% African‑owned data center in the Nkok Special Economic Zone. The project, announced on July 29, aims to enhance the central African country’s digital sovereignty and support its growing digital economy.
The facility is expected to be operational within five months. It will provide a sovereign cloud platform and shared solutions for businesses, along with digital services tailored to healthcare, finance, education and public administration.
Officials say the data center will reduce the country’s reliance on foreign infrastructure, strengthen national cybersecurity and create skilled jobs. The initiative is also designed to promote technological inclusion and offer training opportunities for local talent.
