Moscow, Russia –
Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with South Africa’s Vice President Paul Mashatile on Thursday, as part of ongoing diplomatic engagements between the two nations.
The meeting underscores the long-standing partnership between Russia and South Africa, which dates back to Moscow’s support for the anti-apartheid struggle and was formalized through diplomatic ties in 1992.
Today, both countries maintain active cooperation across key sectors including energy, defense, education, and space exploration. They also collaborate closely within major international forums such as BRICS, the United Nations, and the G20.
Analysts expect the meeting to strengthen multilateral coordination and expand strategic agreements between the two emerging powers.
