AFSIA Awards 2025 Honors Innovators in African Solar Industry. Accra, Ghana — December 13, 2025 Lead Paragraph The African Solar Industry Association (AFSIA) has announced the winners of the AFSIA Awards 2025, recognizing outstanding achievements in the African solar and storage industry.
The ceremony, held on December 3 in Accra, celebrated innovators and leaders contributing to Africa’s clean energy transition.
The awards, organized in partnership with REFA 2025 and supported by Dutch & Co. Covered various categories, including Utility-Scale Solar Project of the Year, which was awarded to AMEA Power for its 300 MWh battery storage expansion in Egypt.
The “SHS Company of the Year “went to Izili (formerly Baobab+), known for its “PAYGo 2.
0″approach in the solar home system sector. Africa REN received the Storage Project of the Year award for the Walo project in Senegal, while KYA-Energy Group was recognized for its large-scale solarization of healthcare centers in Togo.
The “Mini-Grid Project of the Year “saw a tie between Husk Power and TramaTecno Ambiental, both celebrated for their work in electrifying rural areas.
Instollar won the Innovation of the Year for its solar freelance platform in Nigeria, and AM Power was awarded the Visual of the Year. Studio Santi was recognized as Advisor of the Year for its role in the construction of the Twiga Cement solar plant in Tanzania.
Infibranches Technologies and Freedom Won were honored for their contributions to solar technology and storage technology, respectively.
Acumen was recognized for the Hardest — to-Reach (H2R) Program, securing over $245 million for energy access in underserved markets. CrossBoundary was awarded African Company of the Year for its development of a solar and battery storage facility in the DRC.
REA Nigeria was lauded for its Energizing Education Programme (EEP) Phase II, which improved clean energy access in educational institutions.
Dr. Laura Stachel received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her work integrating solar energy into African healthcare systems.
The AFSIA Awards 2025 underscore the continent’s commitment to sustainable energy.
